It is important that the Victorian Public Service (VPS) workforce reflects the diversity of the community. Workplaces should use an intersectional framework and be inclusive and safe for everyone. The VPS is committed to building a diverse workforce and being an employer of choice.
The VPS Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2029:
This action plan is based on what VPS staff told us, what the data shows, and existing diversity, equity and inclusion strategies, action plans, and frameworks.
This information has shaped the focus areas and actions. The Victorian Secretaries Board has endorsed this plan and VPS departments will deliver it over the next three years.
This Action Plan applies plain language principles where possible. Some terms and phrasing have been kept to ensure accountability, accuracy and consistency with existing policy.
