Each year on 23 June, the United Nations honours the importance and impact of public service.
I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to every Victorian public servant.
Thank you for your critical work to support the Government of the day by providing frank and impartial advice and implementing their decisions.
Whether you work directly with the community or in a non-public facing role, what you do matters. You serve our state by supporting the Government of the day with integrity and respect.
Public service is not always easy. It takes care, patience, resilience and strong commitment, especially during difficult times. Your hard work, kindness and dedication do not go unnoticed.
I’m proud to champion the value of public service and our employees. The Victorian Public Sector Commission publishes examples of Victorian public servants putting our values into practice. I encourage you to read them.
I hope you will all mark Public Service Day with your colleagues and celebrate each other’s brilliant work.
