Join me in marking Values Week 2026 across the Victorian public sector.
Held from 12 to 16 October, and coinciding with the United Nations’ World Values Day on 15 October, this year’s theme is “Our values define us.”
Our seven public sector values are Respect, Responsiveness, Impartiality, Integrity, Accountability, Leadership and Human Rights. They are at the core of what it means to be a public servant and must drive our work each day.
I constantly see public servants across the state showing our values. You are working diligently, leading fairly, treating people with respect and keeping the public sector impartial.
Take the time to recognise this commendable work; acknowledge colleagues who demonstrate the values and send them a Values Thank You card.
As Victoria approaches an election period in November, and following the recent release of IBAC’s special report on Operation Richmond, we must remember our obligations under the Code of conduct for Victorian public sector employees and its guidance on putting the values into practice.
This Values Week please read the Code of conduct and refresh your understanding of what it means to work with our values at the heart of what you do.
Thank you for upholding our values.

Victorian Public Sector Commissioner
