Join us in marking World Public Service Day 2025.
Every year the United Nations celebrates the value of public service on 23 June.
Public servants do vital work and we want to take this opportunity to recognise their commitment, skills and expertise.
Overwhelmingly, employees in the Victorian public service are motivated by a sense of purpose and dedication to their communities.
They deliver services and solve problems that really matter to people and help our state be a safer, healthier, more prosperous place to live.
They are innovative, resilient and adept at serving the government of the day, providing frank and impartial advice.
I’m proud to champion Victorian public servants and the innate value of this work.
The VPSC will be running a campaign leading up to the day, giving it the attention it deserves.
I hope this day enables colleagues to come together to focus on our purpose, values, good practice, and recognise the important contribution our service makes. I really encourage all organisations and teams to mark the day together in some way.
It can be a team lunch or afternoon tea or shouting out examples of excellent work in team meetings. You can also take the time to send someone one of our values thank you cards acknowledging how their work embodies our public sector values.
While this is one special day, we should always be focussed on uplifting the public service and supporting and acknowledging our colleagues. So thank you to every Victorian public servant for the essential work you do every day.
