Orders are listed under the following sections of the act. Note that the most recent orders appear first in each section; therefore some orders (such as those dealing with departmental name changes) may have been superseded by a more recent order.
The register is updated when new orders are gazetted. Refer to the Victorian Government Gazette for any formal confirmation.
Proclamation of Commencements relating to when parts of the Act come into Operation are defined in section 2 of the Public Administration Act
How public entities are defined under the act.
Departments are established and abolished through an Order in Council made under section 10 of the Public Administration Act
Administrative offices are established and abolished through an Order in Council made under section 11 of the Public Administration Act
Persons other than Heads of Departments and Administrative Offices with the functions of a public service body Head in relation to employees are listed in section 16 of the Public Administration Act
Declaring certain employees in declared authorities to be executives under Part 3 of the Public Administration Act
Apply divisions or any provision of any of those divisions to a public entity
Requiring public entities to comply with a specific policy to improve operating standards, service delivery or support a whole of government approach
Declared Authorities are established and abolished through an Order in Council made under section 104 of the Public Administration Act

The Victorian Public Sector Commission is required by section 70 of the Public Administration Act 2004 to produce an annual report.
Each year the Victorian Public Sector Commission produces The State of the Public Sector in Victoria Report.
