The Victorian Public Sector Commission is pleased to announce that Expressions of Interest are now open for the 2027 Barring Djinang leadership program.
This program is designed to support First Peoples employees across the Victorian public and First Peoples community sectors to further strengthen their leadership capability, expand their strategic influence, and continue their valued contribution to their workplaces, communities and the sector.
It is open to First Peoples working across the Victorian Public Sector, Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations, Gellung Warl operations team members and Victorian Traditional Owner groups. We welcome applications from First Peoples working in roles equivalent to VPS 6, STS 7 and SES1.
Delivered in partnership with Yimburu, a First Peoples-led consultancy specialising in leadership, coaching and organisational development, participants will explore leadership in a public sector context. The program includes a 3-day immersive on-Country residential, culturally grounded coaching, mentoring and development opportunities in a safe and respectful space.
First Peoples employees in senior roles who are interested in further developing their leadership, growing their careers, and strengthening their connections are encouraged to apply. Expressions of interests close on 6 November 2026.
